OUR APPROACH

Start by listening
to the place.

Light, soil, shelter and the way a space is used guide the first ideas. A garden is a living place, with room to change.

A FICTIONAL STUDIO / A CONSIDERED APPROACH

Less perfect.
More alive.

Verdant Grove is imagined as a residential studio for coastal BC. Its design language brings together the practical work of planning and the quieter pleasure of noticing.

We prefer ideas that can grow into a place. That means considering mature planting, clear routes, material weathering and the work of care from the beginning.

01 / OBSERVE

The place
comes first.

Read the light, existing plants and everyday routes. A good question is more useful than an assumption about the site.

02 / MAKE ROOM

Design for
ordinary days.

Start with a seat, a view or a place to gather. Beauty and practical use belong in the same conversation.

03 / KEEP GROWING

Care is part
of the idea.

Allow for change, choose a manageable care rhythm and give plants the space their future shape needs.

THE DESIGN CONVERSATION

From observation
to a shared direction.

  1. Listen and build a useful brief.
  2. Agree site assessment and design deliverables.
  3. Explore the concept and review it together.
  4. Resolve the chosen design within its scope.
  5. Agree planting, specialist work and handover needs.

These are illustrative stages, not a claim of an operating practice, staff or completed commissions.
